Check if cu is installed:

rpm -q uucp

if it is installed and active the answer should be:

uucp-<versions-no>

If it is not installed yet, please refer to the installation description in chapter 9.3.2

In case of any problems with this package check the permissions of the program.

1. Each user who should be able to use the

cu command has to be a member of the

group

uucp

To add a user into this group proceed as follows:

a) Click <red hat> → System Settings → Users and Groups

b) If you are not logged in as root, a window run as root - KDE su will appear

• enter root password

c) A window KDE User Manager will appear:

• Click on an existing user and click on Properties

d) A window User Properties will appear:
